Check-in Procedures

Discharge Process

At First Class Hospital, your safe and smooth transition from hospital to home is a top priority. Whether you’ve completed a same-day procedure or a longer inpatient stay, we follow a carefully managed discharge process to ensure you understand your treatment outcomes, medications, and next steps before leaving.

1. Discharge Planning

From the moment you’re admitted, our care team begins preparing for your eventual discharge.

Discharge planning includes:

  • Monitoring your recovery progress

  • Coordinating with your specialist or surgeon

  • Arranging follow-up appointments or physical therapy (if needed)

  • Ensuring all lab or test results are reviewed

In most cases, your doctor will inform you at least 12–24 hours in advance when you are likely to be discharged, so you can make transportation or family arrangements.

2. Final Medical Review

Before discharge, your attending physician or senior nurse will:

  • Perform a final medical check

  • Discuss your treatment outcomes or surgery results

  • Explain possible side effects, red-flag symptoms, or what to expect during recovery

  • Answer any questions you or your caregiver may have

Tip: Take notes or record the discussion (with permission), especially if complex instructions are given.

3. Discharge Summary & Medical Documents

You will receive a detailed discharge file, which includes:

  • A Discharge Summary Report outlining your diagnosis, treatment, and hospital course

  • Copies of important test results (imaging, lab work, etc.)

  • Medication list with instructions (dose, timing, duration)

  • Next steps, including when and how to return for follow-up

  • A medical certificate for time off work, if requested

  • For international patients: a translation or summary in English (if the original is in Turkish)

4. Medications & Prescriptions

Our pharmacy team or nurse will:

  • Explain your prescribed medications

  • Clarify when and how to take each drug

  • Inform you about possible side effects and what to do if they occur

  • Provide a printed prescription if any medications need to be purchased externally

In many cases, your first dose will be administered in the hospital before departure.

5. Billing and Payments

Once your doctor authorizes discharge, the billing office will finalize your invoice.

  • For insured patients:
We will coordinate with your insurance company and provide documentation. If there is a co-pay or non-covered amount, you will be informed.

  • For self-paying patients:
A final bill will be presented, and payment can be made by:

    • Credit or debit card

    • Cash (in TRY, USD, or EUR)

    • Bank transfer (advance payment only)

You’ll receive an official receipt and payment summary for your records.

6. Transportation and Leaving the Hospital

Once all formalities are complete:

  • A nurse or porter will assist you in collecting personal belongings and escort you to the exit or your waiting vehicle

  • If needed, wheelchairs or stretchers can be provided for transfer

  • For post-surgery patients, a responsible adult must accompany you during discharge

Note: If you have special transport needs (ambulance, airport transfer), please inform us in advance.

7. Follow-Up Care

Your discharge file will include:

  • Your next appointment date (if required)

  • Any rehabilitation or physical therapy instructions

  • A number to call in case of complications or concerns

  • Direct contact info for your doctor or department nurse

You can also book follow-ups easily online through our appointment page.
